Five years ago, Zika was haunting supply chain managers. It was an emerging disease, and a threat to the world. China had just announced it would not accept any imports unless they were certified mosquito-free.
I remember clearly because Aug. 15, 2016, was the day we launched Supply Chain Dive (here's our first newsletter). Looking back, it's eerie to see what has changed — and what hasn't — since 2016.
Even back then, diseases were threatening supply chains, carrier consolidation was the norm, sourcing strategies were shifting and last-mile fulfillment was a challenge. Because of that, the need for news and insight has only grown.
To commemorate five years of our coverage, we highlighted some of our past stories throughout 2021. These stories were labeled "From The Archives" in our Daily Dive newsletter and added to this page. We also published new stories looking at the past, present and future of the most important topics within supply chain. You can find those stories at the top of this round-up.
