Dive Brief:
- American Eagle’s logistics arm Quiet Platforms announced on Oct. 25 it will partner with tracking platform Parcel Perform to help shippers better track their deliveries.
- The partnership will allow customers to access parcel shipment volumes and delivery updates in real time, according to Parcel Perform Founder and CEO Arne Jeroschewski. Shippers can view shipment data of over 950 global and regional carriers, and will have better visibility into their carrier’s performance.
- The agreement went into effect Oct. 26, and the partnership is expected to grow with potentially more product offerings, Jeroschewski said. Parcel Perform has previously worked with brands including Wayfair and Nespresso to increase transparency within their e-commerce operations.
Dive Insight:
American Eagle is continuing a streak of partnerships and acquisitions to grow its end-to-end logistics service, which the retailer hopes will be competitive against the likes of Amazon.
The deal with Parcel Perform comes a month after Quiet partnered with FourKites to provide shippers with visibility into inventory flow. With Parcel Perform, Quiet is looking to give customers even more insight into their shipments.
Parcel Perform integrates shippers’ e-commerce websites with carrier system data, according to Jeroschewski. When an order is placed, shippers can see tracking and shipment data for over 950 carriers to decide which transportation option is best.
Shippers can also access transit times, number of delivery attempts and proof of delivery from carriers. Jeroschewski said shippers can use the information to evaluate carrier performance, enabling them to negotiate better contracts.
Quiet customers “will be able to identify the most effective and suited carriers for the level and scale of their e-commerce businesses,” Jeroschewski said, “placing the delivery experience firmly within their control.”
