Dive Insight:
Supply chain information partners are increasingly working together to build their toolkits.
Recently, SAP Ariba partnered with Samasource to incorporate fair labor data into their procurement platform. In other news, Jaggaer and Pool4Tool merged to bring together a direct spend and indirect spend platform. The news, while seemingly disconnected, highlight a shifting supply chain: to address the various, complex needs and reach end-to-end visibility, managers need more information in a single place.
Resilinc's and Verisk Maplecroft's partnership is an example of this trend in the still emerging supply chain risk management field. The most interesting part is that the two companies focus on distinct strategies for risk management: risk aversion, and resilience.
Verisk Maplecroft is well known for its risk reports identifying factors managers should consider, like economic shifts or the rise of populism. Resilinc, meanwhile, advocates for building the toolkit to be able to withstand risk factors. Partnered, the two companies will be able to offer clients a risk map, and data-driven insights to address them.
