Dive Insight
DHL eCommerce continues to leverage automation in a bid to meet growing demand and boost efficiency. For example, DHL eCommerce has been integrating loop sorters throughout its facilities for greater efficiency with its most recent facility having up to 99% sorting accuracy.
In August 2023, the logistics provider equipped its Chicago facility with Honeywell loop sorters which can process 40,000 parcels and packages per hour. A DHL eCommerce Florida facility, meanwhile, has two sliding shoe sorters fit to process over 28,000 domestic and international parcels and packages per hour.
DHL eCommerce continues to eye further network growth, with the relocated facility featuring 46 loading dock doors for trucks and two drive-in ramps, Lee Spratt, CEO of DHL eCommerce, Americas, said in the release. The center is located within six miles from the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) which gives easy access for both international air and ground transport.
“This relocation demonstrates our ongoing commitment to innovation and increasing our capacity to process our customers’ ever-growing shipping needs,” Spratt added.
