FedEx Supply Chain is discontinuing operations for a customer at a multi-client facility in York, Pennsylvania, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act notice filed Dec. 19.
The closure was prompted by a customer’s decision to not renew its contract with the company.
Seventy of the facility's 83 employees will be impacted by the closure, with layoffs slated to start Feb. 17 through March 3, per the notice.
“FedEx Supply Chain will no longer be providing service for a customer that occupied space at 2901 Black Bridge Road in York, Pa. While operations will remain at the Black Ridge facility for other customers, operations for this customer will cease in March,” a FedEx spokesperson said in an email.
The spokesperson added that FedEx is helping the impacted employees find other opportunities in the company, including at other facilities in the area.
