Foodservice and retail supplier Golden State Foods named its first-ever chief procurement officer, a spokesperson confirmed via email. Trisha McRoberts was promoted from vice president of strategic sourcing into the C-suite.
“It is timely for this role as the company matures their strategic sourcing transformation to capture a larger breadth and depth of addressable spend to optimize the end-to-end supply chain value impact,” the spokesperson said.
In her new role, McRoberts will continue working to centralize Golden State Foods’ procurement function, according to a press release announcing her promotion. The spokesperson added that McRoberts’ departmental goals include optimal cash management, assured supply, sustainability and supplier-enabled innovation.
Ultimately, the procurement team is aiming to drive organizational growth and develop partnerships — as well as people, the spokesperson said.
Previously, McRoberts spearheaded Golden State Foods’ adoption of a category-management approach to procurement, the press release said. She also led the creation of new processes while developing internal procurement talent and recruiting for the team.
"Trisha has brought a great deal of value to GSF since she joined us in 2021," President and CEO Brian Dick said in the press release. "Her great experience and industry knowledge has helped us improve our procurement process and driven tangible, significant outcomes for our company. Her strategic vision for the future of procurement for GSF will continue to drive change and pay dividends for GSF and its stakeholders."
Before coming to Golden State Foods, McRoberts served as the global head of Americas procurement at McCormick & Company. Her earlier supply chain experience includes logistics management for Nestlé Purina PetCare Company and Jack Links.
“Logistics is a strategic advantage for GSF and her supply chain background is a key asset to optimizing the strategic value impact her team will have in her expanded role,” the spokesperson said.
