Hispanic and ethnic food retailer Heritage Grocers Group announced Adrian Castañeda as its chief logistics officer, according to an Aug. 26 press release.
In his new role, Castañeda will lead transportation, distribution and supply chain operations across the organization.
Castañeda has been with the company for more than 18 years. Prior to his new role, he was a warehouse manager for Cardenas Markets, which is part of the company’s brand of grocery chains, per a July LinkedIn post. He also worked as SVP of supply chain for Heritage Grocers Group and has now stepped into his new logistics role.
“Each role brought new challenges, valuable lessons, and opportunities to become better leader,” Castañeda said in the LinkedIn post. “Along the way, I have had the privilege of working with many exceptional leaders who invested their time, shared their knowledge, and helped shape my leadership style.”
Previously, Castañeda held roles in Mexico working as a supply chain analyst and as project lead.
Heritage Grocers Group also made several other leadership appointments, per the release, including Vince Gambino as chief merchandising officer who will oversee product assortment, sourcing and vendor partnerships. Meanwhile, Adam Salgado was named chief experience officer set to manage omnichannel, marketing and customer engagement strategies.
