Zaxby’s, a fast food chain headquartered in Georgia, tapped former KFC executive Carl Mount to be its chief supply chain officer, effective Jan. 17, according to a press release.
With a long career in the food and beverage industry, Mount has experience in general management, manufacturing, logistics, and procurement functions. In his new executive role, Mount will manage partnerships across the supply chain industry.
Prior to his new position, Mount served as head of supply chain for KFC from 2011–2017 before assuming the role as senior vice president at Starbucks in 2017. While at Yum! Brands, an American fast food conglomerate that operates KFC, Mount focused on margin improvement using collaborative tools between suppliers, franchisees and franchisor. He has also worked with PepsiCo and Coca-Cola.
"Having served in roles both in supply chain and procurement for global brands, Carl will help us optimize solutions that better serve our franchisees, team members and guests for maximum resiliency to supply chain challenges now and in the future," CEO Bernard Acoca said in a statement.
Mount is the latest addition to Zaxby’s executive leadership team, which was revamped last year in January.
“Supply chains are volatile and delicate,” Mount said in a statement. “I look forward to bringing my experience to this team.”
