Mathis Home is using Blue Yonder’s core demand and replenishment capabilities to automate planning processes and upgrade its forecasting operations, according to a March 20 press release.
Through the partnership, the furniture retailer also aims to streamline decision-making and collaboration so planners can focus on “higher-value activities” to accommodate changing market conditions, per the release. Blue Yonder will also aid Mathis Home in maintaining an optimal product assortment.
“Mathis Home can now utilize intelligent algorithms to automatically generate inventory plans based on sales history, on-hand inventory, safety stock requirements, and customer orders,” a Blue Yonder spokesperson told Supply Chain Dive in an email. In turn, planners can use the algorithms to inform daily planning adjustments to help reduce stock-outs and overstocks.
Mathis Home previously used several manual processes, including spreadsheet data input, to manage forecasting and replenishment operations, according to the spokesperson.
Mathis Home is beginning implementation of the Blue Yonder platform across its operations, the spokesperson said. They added that the rollout will take place in stages to “ensure proper change management and technology integration.”
The furniture retailer joins companies like Fabletics and Serta Simmons Bedding that have partnered with Blue Yonder to improve supply chain operations.
