Outdoor retailer Orvis is now using FourKites’ Order Insights platform as it attempts to improve on-time delivery, inventory management and customer satisfaction, according to a July 23 press release.
By utilizing the solution, Orvis aims to attain real-time insight on its network activity, including visibility over processing bottlenecks, cycle times, fill rates, root causes of exceptions, order performance and potential risks, per the release.
Orvis Global Trade Manager Wendy Ripley noted in the release that with Order Insights, “we are already seeing significant benefits, including cost savings from reduced track and trace efforts, and more accurate root cause analysis for order-level exceptions.”
Orvis first partnered with FourKites in 2021 to optimize its inbound flow, per the press release. The fly fishing specialist has since expanded its use of FourKites’ solutions to improve on-time delivery efforts, manage at-risk inventory, inbound orders for truckload and less-than-truckload shipments, in addition to parcel, ocean and air volumes. Orvis also uses FourKites’ Order Lifecycle Visibility solution, which is designed to reduce manual track-and-trace operations and improve inbound shipment visibility.
Cost pressures and other fluctuating market trends have led retailers to tap technology tools to gain better visibility across all links in their supply chains.
For instance, last year Party City partnered with TradeBeyond in an effort to better use in-house data and increase efficiency across its inventory management and vendor compliance operations. Meanwhile, footwear company Allbirds integrated Anaplan software into its operations last year as it sought better inventory and demand management.
