Cargo volumes at Port Houston fell 9% year-over-year to 325,588 TEUs in September, marking the second straight month of YoY volume declines.
"After a record year in 2022, we were prepared to see a slight dip in import loads and export empty containers this year," Executive Director Roger Guenther said in a statement last month.
Despite lower volumes compared YoY, the port saw strong volumes compared to the month prior, in which the port handled 307,624 total TEUs.
