Cargo volumes at PortMiami fell 9% YoY to 92,139 TEUs in August, as the port continues to experience an on and off trend in volumes, according to the PortMiami cargo development division.
"We feel our FY figures will [show a] reduction of about -7% to -8%," the port operator told Supply Chain Dive in an email.
At the same time last year, container volumes were 101,615 TEUs. Compared to 2019 levels, volumes at the East Coast port fell by 2%.
Similar to other East Coast ports, PortMiami is seeing a decline in its container volumes processed as shippers try to reduce their overstock of inventories.
