US LBM, a distributor of specialty building materials, named Jeff Wood as its SVP of supply chain, according to an Aug. 14 press release. He will lead the company’s sourcing and procurement strategy and supply chain operations.
Wood succeeds Steve Short, who was named regional VP of operations for US LBM’s south central region earlier this year.
Previously, Wood was SVP of operations with Wesco International, a global provider of electrical, communications and utility distribution, and supply chain services.
Wood has also worked at Allegion, Schneider Electric and General Electric across roles in operations, supply chain and distribution.
“Jeff's extensive knowledge and experience will help US LBM further maximize our competitive advantage of creating strong partnerships while developing and implementing best-in-class processes to deliver superior value for our customers and suppliers,” COO Don Riley said in the release.
US LBM has been working to expand its footprint and capabilities through various acquisitions. In June, the company announced it acquired New Mexico-based Raks Building Supply, a provider of building materials and manufactured components to professional builders. US LBM also acquired Automated Products, Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of structural building components located in Wisconsin, per a July press release.
