For decades, organizations have turned to Iron Mountain to securely store documents and other forms of sensitive media. But did you know that we’ve been a 3PL managing storage, logistics and fulfillment for enterprises and brands since 2016? In fact, we’ve taken our learnings and knowledge from our core businesses to develop modern warehouses that address today’s commerce challenges while continuously scaling for the future. Here are just a few ways we’re leading the charge.
Redefining the warehouse
Developing and managing a modern warehouse means more than deploying robotic dogs to move boxes around. It means you’ve thought about—and are ready to take on—all the challenges and requirements from brands and 3PLs who are counting on you to help keep their businesses moving. Speed, flexibility, good people, strategic locations and smart technology all make a modern warehouse hum by working together to deliver a great customer experience.
When you walk into one of our logistics warehouses, you immediately see the difference from what you’re used to seeing. New construction, light, bright, airy aisles with flexible racking. Fire protection based on NFPA state and local codes including flue space considerations with strategically placed sprinklers based on rack configurations. Our facilities are built on 100- to 500-year floodplains and are hurricane-proof designed to state building codes.
Warehousing, redefined.
A real estate footprint like no other
Unlike smaller 3PLs with one or two warehouses, we’ve got 12 dedicated logistics warehouses along with 600 storage facilities across North America. So if you want to get your palettes from one coast to another, we likely have a facility in a location where you need one. If you want to get goods closer to urban centers where your stores are located, we can move your product between any one of our multiple warehouses with speed and ease. And if you want your last-mile drivers to have easy pick-up access to merchandise for same-day delivery, we can work with them to expedite the hand-off.
A WMS that does the job
Every modern warehouse needs a Warehouse Management System (WMS) that turns operational complexity into simplified, comprehensive SKU management. But beyond serial number tracking and access to a real-time visibility dashboard, we can help you build your logistics strategy and execute your initiatives. If you store stock in multiple warehouses, we can work with you to determine the best warehouse to ship from. If you have a product recall, we can facilitate palette removal while maintaining chain of custody protocols. We integrate with Amazon, Shopify, Walmart and other platforms and marketplaces, and offer kitting, packaging and labeling services. And we’re continuously investing in additional features and services to help brands get their products in the hands of their consumers.
Security that goes beyond the standard
No modern warehouse is complete without state-of-the-art security. With decades of experience storing highly sensitive information and assets, security has become inherent in our operations. Our warehouses have internal and external CCTV systems for monitored chain of custody from trucks, to facility, to shelves, to deployment. We’ve got access control systems with security alarms connected to third-party monitoring. Our buildings have specific entrances for visitors and employees as well as sign-in processes. And we’ve given the same care and thought to digital security as we mirror the network and firewall protocols we use in our storage warehouses, which follow the highest level of security based on SEC and federal mandates.
So whether you’re looking for overflow storage space, multi-node seasonal or Peak surge management, or palettes positioned closer to your key retail locations, we’re here to make it happen. Fast onboarding, flexible service agreements, customizable racks, spaces, and services that get your products ready for shipping all set you up for success.
